Ch… Ch… Ch… Changes!– A Blogger’s Pregnancy Announcement

One blogger's pregnancy announcement after years of infertility struggles and a month of crazy life changes! To say the last few months have been hectic and exciting would be the understatement of the century. In our house, we never do anything small, and the past few months have been no different. In February alone, we bought our NEW HOUSE, Ryan was put on a NEW AIRPLANE, he bought a NEW CAR, and we found out we’ll be having a NEW BABY in November!

Yep, in what was one of the bigger surprises of my life, I had a positive pregnancy test appear a few days after we closed on our house. Truly, the only reason I even tested was because I tend to get pregnant during moves and I thought I was just psyching myself out. In fact, I was so convinced that I didn’t even look at the stick first– Ryan did– and then I thought he was messing with me when he said there were two pink lines!

It was possibly the worst-kept secret ever (if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you probably already know about my pregnancy announcement, and if you don’t follow me, why not?!), but I wanted to officially share it with all my blog readers. Because of our previous losses, I immediately called my OB and they got me in that morning. I’m now 23 weeks and this baby has given me a run for my money already, with 30 pills a day and intermittent weeks of “do as little as possible” (ha!), which is a big part of why I seem to have disappeared in the blog world for the past few months. So far, baby is happy and healthy despite it all and we’re so unbelievably thankful to get to welcome another sweet little MAN into our family (yep, boy #3 for those counting!).

Matthew had been praying for 6 months or more for a “baby sister for Mason.” We explained to him that it would also be HIS baby sister (he was less than thrilled) and that God gets to pick if it’s a boy or a girl (he was way less than thrilled with that). He’s finally accepted and gotten excited about the fact that he’s getting another little brother and now the new battle is over the name. Mama and Daddy have chosen Maddox James, but Matthew wants Blue Bear. He was even willing to accept Maddox Blue Bear as a compromise (which was very big of him), but unfortunately, his parents have held their ground and it looks like we’ll be welcoming Maddox James into our family in just a few short months!

One blogger's pregnancy announcement after years of infertility struggles and a month of crazy life changes!Mason, on the other hand, is completely oblivious and about to have his world rocked in November, as he’s our needy, sweet, forever-baby of the family. He’s loving seeing all the baby toys come out and I bet we find him snuggled up in one of the various baby seats any day now. I’m just soaking up all the snuggles I can get from him, whenever he’s not too busy playing dinosaurs, space shuttles, airplanes, or construction site.

As far as this news goes for the blog, I have big plans! I’ll continue the content you love (despite the pregnancy announcement, it’s far from all baby all the time over here!), but I’ll also be beefing up the baby-age crunchy mama section with topics like cloth diapers and baby-led weaning, along with my adventures in parenting a kindergartener (what?!), toddler, and baby (particularly with a spouse that tends to disappear for days at a time for work). The most personal topic I’m excited and anxious to share is about our struggles with infertility, having a baby “after” being infertile, and all the emotions and stigmas that go with it.

To keep up with all the ch… ch… ch… changes in our family and all the exciting new content with the blog (and never miss another major event like my pregnancy announcement), make sure you’re following me on Instagram or Facebook!
