doTERRA’s Intro Kit contains a bottle of lemon, lavender, and peppermint essential oils. Each one is powerful on its own, but having all three allows you to have an excellent starter kit for changing your family’s life for the better. There are literally thousands of uses for doTERRA’s Intro Kit, but I settled for 101 of them. The truth is, I could have gone on and on when it comes to the uses for doTERRA’s Intro Kit, but giving you some of my favorites and most-used seemed like the best move.

101 Uses for doTERRA’s Intro Kit
Lemon
- A Cure for Laundry Neglect: Lemon essential oil removes any and all odor when you forget to switch your washed laundry into the dryer.
- Sap-covered Anything: Whether the sap is on your hands, clothes, carpet, or kids, lemon oil is excellent for removing pine gum and tree sap.
- Stop Grease in its Tracks: You just fixed your car and come in covered in grease. Add a drop of lemon oil to a squirt of soap to de-grease your hands.
- Disinfect Everything: Put lemon oil and water in a glass spray bottle and kill anything living on your kitchen table, your countertops, doorknobs, you name it.
- Lose the Gas Mask: When you clean your bathroom, do you get a migraine from the fumes? Break free and use lemon oil instead to get rid of the hard water buildup!
- Nourish Your Leather: Whether it’s your couch or your boots, all leather needs to be conditioned. Use a little lemon oil on a soft cloth to preserve and nourish them.
- Shine Your Silver: Use that same cloth with more lemon oil to remove tarnish on silver or other metals– earrings, necklaces, silverware.
- Remove the Stickiness: Lemon oil can help remove gum from a kiddo’s hair, temporary tattoos from a kiddo’s skin, or the remainder of the price tags on a picture frame.
- Breathe Life into your Furniture: Using a few drops of lemon oil mixed with olive oil on your wooden table, wooden chairs, or especially antique dressers, you can make them shine again. You may need a few coats if it’s been a while (or ever) until it’s soaked into the wood and moisturized it sufficiently.
- De-smudge your Stainless: Get those grubby handprints off your stainless steel fridge with a little lemon oil!
- Clean Granite or Other Porous Stone: Lemon oil cleans deeper than other cleaners, which means it gets down into your stone countertops and kills the germs deep down where they hide. Plus, it leaves your kitchen smelling like REAL lemony-fresh!
- Energize Your Brush: Add a drop each of lemon and peppermint essential oils to the head of your toothbrush before you brush your teeth for an energizing start to your day.
- Quantine Smells: Diffuse or spray lemon oil to neutralize odors at their source– smelly soccer shoes, potty training, that milk cup under the seat of your car, all taken care of with lemon oil!
- Take the Spine Out of Scuffs: Lemon oil lifts scuff marks with ease!
- Curtail the Dank, Musty, and Mildewed: Chase away the damp smell from anything in the back of your closet with a quick spritz of lemon oil.
- Stop Cutting Board Bacteria: The taste of under-the-sink chemicals is hardly to be desired, but lemon oil makes everything fresher and tastier. Use it instead!
- Control the Aphids: Using pesticides on your tomato plants is not the safest choice, but lemon or peppermint oils sprayed on will kill aphids and their larvae on contact, while leaving your plants ready to eat!
- Spot-Free Dishes: Rather than rinse agent, add a few drops of lemon oil to your dishwasher soap container for spot-free dishes.
- Refresh Bad-Smelling Towels: Add lemon oil to your detergent, soak overnight, wash, and dry your kitchen towels for a fresher-smelling kitchen.
- Energy Boost: For a quick energy boost, add a couple of drops each of lemon oil and peppermint oil to a glass of water.
- Zest Up Your Sugary Treats: Lemon frosting, lemon pie, lemon cakes, lemon glaze, lemon squares, lemon marshmallows, lemon cookies… They’re all delicious!
- Pep Up Your Entrees: Roasted asparagus with lemon oil, lemon garlic shrimp, roasted broccoli, salad dressing, you name it!
- Preserve Your Fruit and Veggies: Use a spritz of lemon oil on your avocados, apples, or anything else you don’t want turning brown once you’ve cut it.
- Ease Resipatory Discomfort: When diffused, it’s a perfect way to slow seasonal bugs, coughing, or other upper respiratory issues.
- De-scratch Your Scratchy Throat: Adding a couple of drops to a warm cup of tea and some honey can help that sore throat become a healed throat. Lemon oil is fights bacteria, as well as other threats.
- Sun Your Hair, UV-Free: Skip the salon treatment or chemical-filled spray and use lemon essential oil instead. Just go in the sun for a little while afterward (with sunscreen!) for lightened, honey-colored hair.
- Fight the Fungus Among Us: Tired of unsightly nail fungus? Lemon oil is great for even healthy nails, but even more powerful against nail fungus.
- Halt the Nervous Nellie: Diffuse lemon oil with lavender oil to feel less anxious and put you in a better mood.
- Focus, Focus: To clear your mind and focus your outlook, diffuse a little lemon oil.
- Take the Heat Out of Cold Sores: Put a few drops of lemon oil on a miserable cold sore to help reduce the pain and misery.
- Brighten Your Mood: Chase away the blues with a little topical or diffused lemon oil.
- Tough Feet: To soften hard spots on your feet, routinely add a few drops of lemon oil to soften the skin.
- A Happier Complexion: Lemon oil makes an excellent exfoliant. Just add a few drops to some oatmeal and water for a homemade scrub.

Peppermint
- Calm an Upset Tummy: Just one drop of peppermint oil, rubbed on the stomach or taken internally can calm indigestion or other internal digestive issues.
- Get Rid of Morning Breath: Add a drop of peppermint oil (and a drop of lemon oil) to a shot glass of water and swish in your mouth for a cleaner, less furry-feeling mouth.
- Air Flow: When your sinuses are clogged and your throat is itchy, diffuse peppermint oil or apply topically to your chest to open the airways and get immediate relief.
- Ease Aching Joints: Peppermint oil with lavender oil cools like an ice bath, while you stay warm and dry, cooling your joints.
- Feel Full, Faster: Breathing in the scent of peppermint helps you to feel full faster, preventing overeating.
- Cool Your Heels: Add peppermint oil to a cool compress and use on tired, achy feet after standing all day.
- Central Perk: The invigorating aroma of peppermint is a great alternative to coffee to wake yourself up on a long drive, a late-night cram session, or during your workday.
- Energize Your Suds: Add a few drops to your shampoo or conditioner to stimulate your scalp, energize you, and wake up first thing in the morning. It can also help remove lice and dandruff.
- Seasonal Threats Beware: Peppermint oil has the ability to relax the muscles in your body, including the ones that line our airways.
- Chase Away Tension: A few drops of peppermint, dabbed on your neck, temples, and tops of your shoulders can help calm the tension you feel.
- Help Get Kids Focused: The next time your kiddo needs a little help focusing on their homework, try spritzing a little peppermint oil around his study area or on his shirt.
- Seep, Soak, Revitalize: Apply a few drops of peppermint to your chest, soak in a warm bath, and breathe deeply to revitalize and relax after a long day.
- Freshen Your Tea: One drop of peppermint oil will add life to your tea, while calming occasional indigestion.

- Wake Up your Mind: Peppermint oil activates the limbic function in your brain, which controls things like emotions and long-term memory.
- Fix the Itch: Apply a drop of peppermint and lavender oils to cool, soothe, and stop skin irritation.
- Theme Park Relief: A few drops rubbed on your stomach can help calm the dizziness from a crazy rollercoaster.
- Travel to the Arctic: When you add a few drops of peppermint oil to your ice water, it improves the taste and gives you an arctic wind in your airways.
- Burrow No More: If you find a tick in your skin, put peppermint oil on a cotton swab and bathe the tick in it. It will stop burrowing and remove its head.
- Pest Removal: Most household bugs don’t like peppermint oil– ants, aphids, beetles, mice, cockroaches, and spiders, too– so add to water in a spray bottle and spritz your baseboards, entryways, and windowsills to help prevent pests.
- Clean Naturally: Peppermint oil is an antifungal and antibacterial so use it in bathrooms, kitchens, and anywhere else you need a cleaner clean.
- Sleep like a…– I’d say baby, but we all know they don’t sleep. Anyway, peppermint oil helps activate cold-sensitive receptors in the skin. It may help with sleepless nights when used this way.

- Go Eight-Leg Free: When you diffuse peppermint in a room, spiders will run. They hate it! It’s safe for pets, babies, and even the spiders themselves!
I know, it’s a lot of information to take in, but I DID warn you that there are SO many uses for doTERRA’s Intro Kit! Last up, my favorite oil: lavender!
Lavender
- Chase Away Stagnant Air: You know the smell of your grandmother’s closet? Old shoes, dirty clothes, clothing from decades long gone… Diffuse, drizzle on earthen ware, or dripped on cotton balls, lavender oil can chase away that stale air.
- Take the Bite Out of a Bite: If you forget to prevent creepy crawlies, use lavender to soothe the itching and inflammation that comes from a bite.
- Multi-purpose Spray: When you’re stuck in traffic, pull out a spray bottle of lavender and water to freshen your car and calm your nerves.
- Knock the Kids Out: Children wired? A few drops on their pillow will help ease their minds, calm their bodies, and help make bedtime a little easier on Mama.
- Skip the Lysol: The next time you need to freshen a bathroom, use a spray bottle of lavender and water to take advantage of lavender’s cleansing, purifying, and relaxing properties, as well as its light scent.
- Take the Acrid Out of Vinegar: My husband HATES the scent of vinegar, but add a few drops of lavender to the bottle and it’s pure magic in the kitchen.
- Therapeutic Dish Soap: If your liquid soap is a bit flat, add lavender for additional aromatherapy benefits and more antibacterial properties.
- Loveable Linens: Energize your linens with spritzes of lavender oil. It leaves no oil marks, and freshens your whole closet.
- Lavender Lights: Add lavender to your candlemaking for a relaxing scent.
- Brand New Wooden Floors: Commercial floor polishes contain harsh chemicals– nothing you want your babies crawling on! Just add lavender oil to your normal cleaning liquid to oil your floors while you clean!
- Help That Old Ball Cap: A well-worn ball cap can be disgusting after years of wear, so add a few drops of oil to make it a little more bearable.
- Refresh Your Mattress:When you change your sheets, spritz your mattress with some lavender oil to freshen your mattress.
- Homemade Room Freshener: In a small mason jar with holes punched in the lid, put baking soda and 5–6 drops of lavender oil. Place near your garbage can, dirty clothes, or in the bathroom, and shake often.
- Dog Deodorizer: Add a shake or two of your baking soda/lavender oil mixture to your carpets and rugs and then vacuum it up.
- Extra Potpourri Mileage: If you have a bowl of potpourri that has seen better days, try refreshing it with a few drops of lavender oil.
- Better-Smelling Vacuuming: Your vacuum can make your whole home smell better or worse. Add a few drops of lavender, lemon, and peppermint in the bag to freshen the air coming out of the vacuum.
- Soften Citrus: Use lavender in lemon sauces for chicken or fish, lemon or orange marmalades, citrus dressings, or lemonade.
- Marinades and BBQ: Untraditional, perhaps, but try adding a few drops to a garlic and rosemary blend for chicken, spread over vegetables, or honey-and-lavender-marinated chicken breast.
- Bake Like the Best: Lavender is a floral addition to lemon lavender cookies, lavender sugar cookies, muffins, cakes, and more.
- Give Your Sugars a Twist: Using lavender oil as a substitute for vanilla makes a delicious twist in icings, custards, creams, honey, or even maple syrup.
- Oatmeal Scrub: Fill a baby food jar with oatmeal and add 5-8 drops of lavender oil. Add water and it becomes an excellent natural scrub, using just a little at a time.
- Rub a Dub Dub: Instead of normal soap and water at baby’s bath time, add a few drops of lavender oil to the warm water. Your little one’s skin will be pampered and soft and it’ll help settle them down for bed.
- Soak Away Stress: Speaking of baths, add it to your own bath to help relax your muscles, ease anxiety, and calm the nerves.
- Let the Vapor Talk: Add a few drops to a handful of water and massage into your hair. Breathe deeply and let it relax you while it conditions your hair.
- Target Skin Blemishes: Lavender helps balance the glands in your skin and control breakouts.
- Minor Burns, Major Relief: When you’ve slightly overdone it in the sun, a little lavender oil is helpful in calming skin irritation.
- Boo Boo Relief: Lavender’s disinfecting properties make it great for relief from cuts and scrapes, in addition to being wonderful for the skin around it.
- Alleviate Occasional Ear Pain: Warm lavender (don’t scald it), mix it with a carrier oil like coconut oil or olive oil, and massage around the ears (NOT in them) and near the glands in the throat.
- Dry Climate Cure: If you suffer from dry, itchy skin, add lavender to coconut oil and use like a soothing lotion.
- Horrific Heels: If your heels are dry and tough from sandals all summer or the cold weather all winter, add half a dozen drops of lavender oil in a warm foot bath.
- Stress Relief: Add a drop to some fractionated coconut oil and use in a massage of your neck, shoulders, and temples.
- A Hood of Wonder: The next time you’re feeling under the weather, add 4-6 drops of lavender and peppermint oils to a bowl of steaming-hot water, place a towel over your head, and inhale the vapor deeply.
- A Woodworker’s Best Friend: Do you have a splinter? Add a few drops of lavender, allow the splinter to swell, and slip out on its own.
- Seasonal Threats: Lavender oil can calm down unruly head and respiratory issues. Just apply a drop on the back of your neck, chest, or cheeks/bridge of your nose.
- Fortify Your First Aid Kit: There are plenty of doTERRA products that would be incredible additions to your First Aid Kit, but if you must choose only one, make it lavender. Basic first aid kits are often focused on minor skin issues, which is just what lavender oil is made for.
